The Reverend Cynthia Seifert

The Reverend Cynthia Seifert, ordained in 2006, began serving as Priest in Charge in January of 2019. â€‹She received at B.A. in English at Presbyterian College in Clinton, South Carolina and a Master of  Divinity from Trinity School for Ministry in Ambridge, PA.

​​​

She was a Campus Minister and a transitional Deacon at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Murfreesboro and there ordained a Priest.  She served as Interim Rector at St. Phillip's Nashville, and then Assistant Rector at Church of the Good Shepherd in Brentwood, TN. Later she was Vicar at St. Anselm's Episcopal Church in Nashville.​​Prior to ordination she served as the Youth Minister at Church of our Savior, Glenshaw, Pennsylvania and St. Bartholomew's, Nashville, Tennessee.  She was Chaplain Resident at the Alvin C. York Tennessee Valley Medical Center. 

 

She and her husband, Chris, Pastor of Connell Memorial UMC live in Lebanon with their daughter and several pets. Other activities include the Lebanon Noon Rotary Club, Child Advocacy Center Board and the Diocesan Commission on Ministry.

The Reverend Cindy Long

Deacon

 

Retired from the Diocese of Northern California, Cindy serves on Sundays as well as oversees outreach ministries and the Grief Share support group.  Her long diaconal experience enhances our congregation in many ways.   Her husband, Mark Long, also serves and attends with their family.

 James H. Jordan

Organist and Music Director

 

James Jordan is a Lebanon native and a graduate of Cumberland University. He was a member of the Cumberland University Singers, under the direction of Dr. H. Bert Coble. He continued his study of organ at Blair School of Music, Vanderbilt University under Peter M. Fyfe. He further continued his studies with Julia C. Callaway, Organist-Associate Choir Director of Vine Street Christian Church, Nashville, Tennessee.


He retired from LifeWay Christian Resources in December 2019 after completing 34 years of service as Manager of Corporate Credit and where he also served as one of the Chapel Organist. When LifeWay was moving from their downtown Nashville location, he was able to arrange for the pipe organ in Van Ness auditorium be gifted to Cumberland University. He is a member of the Nashville Chapter of the American
Guild of Organists, where he has served in various leadership positions. He was the Registrar of the AGO National Convention held in Nashville in 2012.

 

He was Director of Music Ministries of Westland United Methodist Lebanon from 2005 to 2012, where he directed the Sanctuary Choir, handbell choir and the children’s music programs. James has played for Cumberland University’s Masters Hooding Service at the First Baptist Church, Nashville for fourteen years. In August 2015, he became the organist for Episcopal Church of the Epiphany, Lebanon. In December 2021, he was appointed the University Organist of Cumberland University.
  

He is married to Judy Jordan, who recently retired as Vice President for Finance of Cumberland University. They have two children, Dr. Bradley (Ashli) Jordan and Lauren (Andy) Pack. Bradley is a teacher with Wilson County Schools and assists in directing Epiphany’s choir. Lauren is a teacher in Woodbury, Tennessee. James and Judy have four grandchildren.
